I actually really liked this cozy. The crime solvers were a team and they were fun and multi-faceted. The crime itself was ok, but the characters were likable.

Not brilliant, profound, or original, but quite enjoyable if you like rather old-fashioned mysteries.

Very slow, very sleepy read. Extremely cozy although not so much a mystery per se. I enjoyed all the characters but I think I got just as annoyed as D.I. Stumble did with Eleanor’s forgetfulness. That’s honestly the biggest downside to this story — Eleanor was a charming character but do I REALLY need to hear about how she keeps forgetting to lock her door, and is always misplacing her keys, every other page?? I think not.
So plot-wise and pacing-wise, this could use some work. But Dunn’s writing is good and her characterization is excellent. Will definitely be reading more of hers, but not necessarily in this series. (Though I am curious to see if it improves.)

This is the first time I've read this author. I typically enjoy the British mysteries more than the American ones. This one was enjoyable. I would read this author again. If you're looking for an easy cozy type of read, this is a good choice.

Very entertaining. Went well with some balmy fall weather and a few quiet afternoons.
