This book just didn’t gel for me.
Things I liked:
- Platonic friendship between MCs of different genders.
- Lots of queerness!
- I think that’s it.
Things I didn’t particularly like:
- I wanted to learn more about the characters themselves, who they are outside of their dads.
- I especially wanted to know more about Gus. There was so much talk about fashion, but it felt like a disjointed afterthought. I felt like the main thing we see about Gus is his CP.
- Phil. His character seemed pretty pointless and I could not get into the chapters from his POV. I mainly skimmed them.
- The mystery didn’t really get going I til the last third of the book. I was hoping it would be more of a whodunnit, figure out clues type of mystery, but it wasn’t.
I don’t know, it wasn’t really for me.
