Another mixed bag of stories. From the absolute geeky delight Deep in the Count, to the sweet second-chance romance of Creeling the Bridegroom, I had plenty to smile at this time. I do wish that Routine Watch had been longer because that was such an interesting premise!

There was one I liked. The Welsh merman one. Which was like 15 pages or so. Love seeing new writers but could have used some more thorough editing.

Terrence called in his fellow Dom Mike to help him with Corwin, but I think even Mike wasn't a good match. Terrence wasn't into Domestic Discipline like Mike, but Mike wasn't a structured Dom. Corwin would passive aggressively and deliberately lash out at the family group. He was self mutilating too. Corwin just begged for the security of a more controlled relationship, with cause and effect consequences, to prevent emotional blowups and self mutilation. Corwin needed a lot of structure because he had no self control. That didn't happen. Mike's approach was to step in after the event and provide punishment. In fact, I didn't really see a strong DD relationship between Mike and Corwin. So no relationship = no emotional bonding = no sexual chemistry = no romance. So the story just felt lame to me.

Also, transfer of ownership of Corwin from Terrence to Mike was not formally hashed out and left to default. Corwin complained of not feeling wanted because Terrence never formally claimed ownership. Mike should have been more sensitive to that. That would have given Corwin more stability. And Mike just needed to be a Dom and step up to the plate. Like I said earlier, even though Mike was into DD, I don't think he was the right fit for Corwin.

J.A. Rock has an earlier book "By His Rules" that is DD. In that book the sub is much older, does not have as many issues as Corwin, and works better with a more laid back Dom like J.A. Rock likes to write about.

I enjoyed this one (mostly due to the characters) even though I still have some trouble wraping my head around the "domestic discipline" part.
