I really liked this one! So far, this series has a very Narnia vibe with Lemony Snicketish characters, and Harry Potterish magic. That said, these books are their own unique thing, not for everyone, delightful, silly, bizarre, and somehow totally relatable.

This one in particular gives some Romeo & Juliet family feud drama along with (for once) a big loving family, no orphans, and lots of goofy magic gone wrong. Top it off with a proper villain, Punch & Judy, and magic book, and there's almost too much fun in this one.

cool sort of magical reflavoring of a romeo and juliet story but its not even about romance it’s about befriending a cat with an attitude and being inept. kind of a serve!
