this book is really gorgeous, the color usage is lovely. the designs are pleasant, if a little bland, and the same can be said for the story. it’s fine if that’s your thing. if the summary appeals to you, you’ll probably like it. it wasn’t as much for me as i’d hoped, but i don’t have many glaring issues with it beyond how predictable the plot and characters are.

An enjoyable YA look at Mera and by extension Arthur Curry. Mera's not a character I knew a ton about as I tend to read more Marvel, Image, DW, and independent comics over DC so I felt like I came away knowing more about her. If you are a parent looking for a comic for your younger child, say 8 to 12 this would be a good choice.

This was a lot of fun! I really would love for this to be continued in a more complete series because I want to see where this version of Atlantis and Mera and Arthur go to!
