It was a good fantasy book in my opinion. I don’t like that the fantasy trope of oh I have to cheat on my loving partner cos I’m slightly swayed is in there. 
I also don’t like the switch in the middle where it falls a little flat and runs entirely on character, I feel more could have happened to make me read faster.

I don’t know about this one. Mal got annoying real quick and Nikolai is just a repurposed Captain Jack Sparrow. The Darkling was barely in the story even though the plot was about him and Alina fighting each other

I enjoyed this book, I definitely like all the intrigue and the excitement, I still don’t think it compares to the Six of Crow series, but it’s interesting. I’m excited to see what happens next
