Oh God! I'm stunned by how much has the movie cutted from the book. I loved Miyazaki's anime version but after reading this I'm a bit disappointed of it. I'm glad that my expectations were exceeded beyond measure. It will be on my favorite list after Gaiman's work.

The movie was wonderful and so is this book. They are not the same.

Like Gaiman's Stardust, this is a children's book that is just as enjoyable for grownups.

Interesting and unusual characters. A plot that isn't entirely predictable. Quite a bit of whimsy and humour.
Yep, it's all here.

If you only read ten children's books as an adult, this should be one of them.

“By now it was clear that Howl was in a mood to produce green slime any second. Sophie hurriedly put her sewing away. "I'll make some hot buttered toast," she said. "Is that all you can do in the face of tragedy??" Howl asked. "Make toast!”
