I picked this up at my local library after seeing it on display and now this has become one of my favorite contemporary poetry collections.
"It takes your fingers
so long to find the rim
of a coffee mug. The run
through a heap of clothes, rise
to the level of my face, spill,
cut, touch, stray. You fall
without warning. I think of
the boy in the market, dropping
his ball again and again
just to see who would
bring it back."
