I don't think I was in the right mood. Maybe it was trying tooooo hard? I think I'll try and get back to it at some point.

What a great book. I really enjoyed it. Lucifer is funny, flawed and just as messed up as all of us. The book has a real cynical grasp of human nature and is full of funny lines:

"Astonishingly gorgeous people are rarely good, for the simple reason they don't need to be. Hell's absolutely stuffed with the souls of ex-stunnas and hunks, whereas Heaven's been in a more or less perpetual state of talent-famine since human beings first started biting the dust. "

I liked this line too:

"Hell is two things: the absence of God and the presence of time. Infinite variations on that theme."

Nicely done.

This story is like trying to follow a schizophrenic on molly with the attention span of a toddler. If it wasn't for Lucifer's one liners, topes, and side notes about things like The Ten Commandments, vaginas, pedophiles, sex, the Garden of Eden, and “making deals with the devil...” I would have stopped reading very early on.

I used three years to read this story and I'm so desperate to like it. The mythos are interesting enough and I got spoiled the ending which is SO INTERESTING IN CONCEPT. but the Writing is just, so excruciatingly painful - I was doubting myself Bc I thought it's my English second language ability in lacking. But nope. It's just the writer couldn't write a coherent sentence without trying to make it into a flowery wreck.

I went into this trying to look for a good Lucifer story. This was before I found Lucifer the TV show, so yay I don't see any reason to finish this anymore so bye.

This book was okay. I was recommended to read this book by a friend but I really couldn’t stand the monologue voice of Lucifer and I really disliked that he would Interrupt the plot to talk about a very long back story, it would be so long that I would forget where we were in the present day plot. I thought I was really going to like this book, and many parts of it I did, but the awful descriptions of torture and especially violence against women was too much for me.
