A free short story, 5.7, in the Psy-Changeling paranormal romance series revolving around two groups of shifters in the San Francisco-Bay area. The couple focus is on Brenna and Judd Lauren.

If you're interested, there is a chronological listing of the Psy-Changeling books on my website.

My Take
It's a familiar conflict for every couple in the world: Do we watch the tear-jerking romance or the action movie? And poor Brenna, she's desperate to learn more about her man with us learning all about it through third person protagonist point-of-view from Brenna's perspective.

I had expected to love this short story, but I gotta say I was disappointed. Singh is usually so good at diving into her characters within a few pages, and I feel that she left too much hanging in the wind.

Okay, so Judd is willing to watch what he thinks Brenna would like, and when he falls in with her plans, we only get a subtle possibility as to how he felt at the end of that movie.

Considering that Judd is finally experiencing emotion and the "expected" male reaction, I was disappointed with the abrupt ending. Of course there was Judd's comment about the action star's romantic lead and her, ahem, immovable rack, which made me laugh. But I wanted more.

The Story
It's a rare night off for Judd, and Brenna is determined to learn more about her mate. And how better to sink back into home than with pizza and a movie.

The Characters
Brenna Shane Kincaid, a wolf shifter, is mated to Judd Lauren, a former Arrow, an elite assassin for the Psy Council, a telekinetic known as the Ice Man for his coldness and his core of intractable stubborn (Caressed by Ice, 3).

SnowDancer is…
…the wolf pack to which they belong.

The Title
The title is the overt event for the night, "Movie Night".

“Movie Night” free read on Nalini Singh website.
Aww a sweet quick read. We get a peek into Judd and Brenna's life with a little humor thrown in.

“Those people didn’t understand that her mate had lived his life in the shadows, been forced to submerge his personality under a layer of ice—that ice had melted for her, but that didn’t mean it hadn’t left scars. Fun was still a new concept for Judd.”

Ahhhhhh! Another sweet little peek into the lives of one of our favorite couples: Judd and Brenna.

They are one of my fave couples and it's so great to see them going strong and any time with them is a treat. The best part is it's a chance to see how Brenna is still healing Judd, and that in the end despite it all Judd is still a man. You'll be grinning and happy by the end of this one.

Yeppers, another freebie from the amazing Singh.

Sexual Content: Sexual humor, and you know the two love birds can’t keep their hands off each other.

4/5- Great! Really enjoyed it.

Quick short story with Judd and Breanna where they have a movie night. Breanna lets Judd pick the movie. I loved these two characters.
