dark fast-paced

3.5

Hard to rate this collection.

The first two stories (Judge Death and Judge Death Lives!) are quite possibly perfect. Wagner's breakneck pace stops the judges from outstaying their welcome and Bolland's art is full of delicious menace. I'd recommend buying/reading for these two stories alone.

Which is just as well because as a concept there isn't really anywhere else for the dark judges to go . Past a point, it's: go here, kill nameless civilians, go somewhere else, kill more, repeat 5 or 6 times then get foiled by Dredd/Anderson. The third story 'Four Dark Judges' started to lose me. No disrespect to the colourist, but I feel like some of the magic is lost transisitioning from monochrome and the story just kept going on and on. After that, the next two stories understandably descend into outright farce. Both of them are fine for what they are, they just pale in comparison to the stories that have come before.

Me faltaba alguna de las últimas historias por leer, que no están mal. Pero las primeras, las de Bolland, son arte de museo. Qué gozada.
