If I didn’t read this book, I would have never learnt about the postwar maternity homes and forced adoption mandate. This story will take you on an emotional ride through motherhood and understand the importance of your right to want to be a mother. Every child a wanted child.

I read this book for a reason: to step inside the world of hopeless women who felt they had no choice but to choose an abortion. I wanted to understand. And while I didn’t agree by a long shot with all of the decisions made, I did care for the characters. And, I enjoyed the writing, for the most part.

But the string of coincidences and plot conveniences used made me knock some stars off.

Completely captivating. I never wanted to set this book down. I was completely hooked and felt so connected to each of the characters as well as naturally learning a lot through the story.
