I was excited when I heard about Faith, and the book delivers.

First, I love the cover for both volumes. Faith is overweight, and it's amazing that no one comments on this at all. There are no disparaging remarks to her from herself or from other people. She is not shown eating, and mostly she looks good, although her secret identity is a little rough.

I am not a superhero person, but I've been getting into comics more and more. My favorites are new stories not tied to intricate backstories. Faith is a superhero who's new to me, and I love that I didn't need know anything about her to enjoy this comic.

As with most comics, there's not much story in each volume, but I do like how we spend a lot of time learning about Faith in vol 1. Faith is an upbeat, positive person who has superpowers and wants to use them to help people. I've seen this classified as YA, probably because there's no sex, nudity, or graphic violence, a refreshing change from some comics aimed toward adults.

By the end of Vol 2, I was really engrossed in the main mystery and wanted to see more of what Faith can do. I'm so happy that Faith is out there.

This printing of Faith is a 4-issue mini-arc, and I've read the first 2 issues. Vol 1 introduces us to Faith, and Vol 2 gets more into the plot.

I received Faith Vol 1 and 2 from the publisher via Netgalley

A female fat super hero! She was witty! I loved it! Plus it's the same artist who did DC Bombshells.

This was great!

The art style is clean, well-polished, the colours are really well-harmonised. I particularly like art in Faith's daydreaming sequences -- the colours are dreamy and the actual style is different but still totally consistent.

I love the modern writing style, all the nods to fandoms, sci-fi shows and contemporary internet / tumblr-speak. One day it might show its age, but right now? It's pretty on-point.

Faith is a great heroine. I love the way they draw her, I love the way her inner dialogue is written. And I adore that she's a plus-sized heroine, doing her thing, going through her day, just like everyone else.

The authors and creators treat her with respect, and I thank them for all the effort that went into this comic.

(Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review. I'm glad I did!)
