I really enjoyed every second of this book. It was hot and steamy in all the right ways, and there was a great plot as well, making it a great combo of Erotica and PNR. Tatyana and Hunter were so obviously meant for each other, but it was great to see them work through their problems as a couple along with all their epic battles, reminding us that even Witches are just humans with all their foibles and dramas. The twists and turns the plot takes were intriguing and well written without being too predictable. I haven’t yet read a story by Jacquelyn Frank that I haven’t thoroughly loved, but this was a surprisingly wonderful addition to her bookshelf and I hope that there are more coming in this series—maybe even a little prequel with Annali and Dimitre’s story…wink wink nudge nudge. If you are looking for something fun and a little bit different, I recommend this story to fill your need.

Another interesting world created by Jax. Great source of conflict between character groups. Good potential for character growth and development as well as reasons for new characters to appear. Definitely needs to backtrack and share Annali's and Dimitre's story with us.

I am a fan of Jacquelyn Frank and her Nightwalker series. I am only fond of the Shadowdweller books because I just find that they are almost always in compete darkness annoying. So I was excited to see this new title with her writing it under the pseudonym Jax. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this book. I love the world that she created. The good vs. evil amongst witches. The twist on familiar’s. I also liked the personalities of the good witches. My problem was that aside from the very erotic love scene’s the writing seemed amateurish. It felt more like a first novel, that was originally and indie ebook, instead of a a new novel written by a seasoned author.

Also to my knowledge this book is not part of a series, nor was this world featured in a anthology. Yet as I was reading it I felt like I picked up a book in the middle of a series and I wanted to refer back to the other books. But not in a good way. Even though events and relationships were explained I still left like I came late to the party.

The book was wrapped up nicely, so it may be just a novel or it could be the beginning of a new series. If it is a new series, and “Jax” works out the kinks, this would be something I look forward to reading.

Tatyana Petrova is dropping in unexpectedly on her brother Dimitre when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. With the mountains blocking her cell signal she decides to hoof it to the next house she sees. When she finally spots the lights of the big mansion fitting the description her brother gave her she’s nearly frozen from the cold. Pausing at the front door to get a twig from her shoe she falls into the arms of Hunter Finn when he opens the door in preparation to go out for dinner with his family.

Hunter is surprised to have a beautiful woman fall into his arms. Because the house is warded she shouldn’t have been able to find them, yet here she is. In his arms. Shivering and teeth chattering. After getting her warmed up and introduced around they decide to eat in. That’s when things get interesting because she didn’t just fall into the arms of a hot yummy man. She fell into the middle of a coven of witches.

Well-written with excellent characters this story flows smoothly. There is humor, suspense and smoking hot sex. My only complaint is at the beginning. It’s my understanding that this is the first book in a new series. However, starting out I felt as if I was missing a piece of the story. There were a lot of people introduced all at once and when I found out Dimitre and Annali were in a relationship and the coven had been attacked with Dimitre instrumental in the win, I realized their story should have been told first. I want to know how and when they met and experience their story. All-in-all though I loved this story. I look forward to what comes next.

The action isn't described in as much detail as the sex.

Tatyana goes to visit her brother, whom she hasn't seen in a while, gets caught in snow, gets rescued, finds out she's a witch of some power and gets caught in romance and a power struggle.

Interesting but not really me.
