I listened to the audiobook for this book because I left the actual book at home.
I didn't like this book, I also did not realize that this book was the second book of the child finder.
I liked the child finder, but did not like this book at all. I did almost DNF it, but I ended up finishing it since it was an audiobook.

A fine follow-up to continue the story of Naomi, the Child Finder. Tracing her oldest cold case, she gets tangled up in a new mystery and trying to help a young girl who lives on the streets. She also struggles with marital problems and self-discovery and it all ends up wrapped in a neat little bow like the wings of a butterfly.
While the story is good, I found this sequel to lack some of the magic of the first book, and after a slow start and an excellent middle, I found the ending rushed and unsatisfying.

Read in a day. This book was an amazing second in the series, it completed the story perfectly. It’s well written, heartbreaking and interesting. It shows parts of society that are often forgotten about, real problems that are very harsh.

Excellent page turner. Quite dark themes of child abuse homelessness and addiction. I like the characters and hope to read more in the series.

3.5. A good follow up to the Child Finder, though it fell a little flat character wise compared to the first.

Second book in The Child Finder series.

Naomi continues her search for her sister in this continuation of her story, with Jerome at her side. Jerome pursues his own license and is an investigator himself before the end of the book.
Through Naomi’s search for her sister, a new group of endangered children are brought to her attention through the crimes being committed against them. As she looks into these crimes, one girl in particular, Celia, stand out to her. Naomi becomes torn between the work of searching for her sister and spending time with Celia, but then they seem to be more and more related. Naomi has to find out FAST to save them both!

I think I liked this book better than the first!
