I am officially an Emma Chase fan after this one. Book one in the series was damn good, and this one, pregnancy trope aside (just not my thing), was even better!

I literally laughed out loud more times than I can count, and did she a tear or two over the cuteness and emotions in the book. Dean the playboy has a hot one night stand with Lainey and it changes his entire world!

Lainey is a lifestyle blogger, with a teenage son, and his new math teacher is of course, Dean. And it all just goes from there.

I absolutely loved it, and will binge listen to book 3 today. I love that these can be stand alone reads, but also that they have such amazing side characters as well. And this one was no different. Grams was absolutely hilarious and all of Lainey's family was great too.

And since it was an audible original I have to say, again, fantastic narration!

3.50 stars.

It’s good, but there were times when the situation felt unrealistic and forced. Also, I think it the slowness of the pacing almost turned me off; I had to skim a few pages in the first part because there were extensive description/narrative about how she wants to decorate the Lakeside house. It would have been better if a few paragraphs were taken out, as a reader, I’d still have a pretty good visual of what the place will or is looking like.

I loved the beginning of this. I love Dean and his sexy ways and then the trope that is number one on my 'do not like' list made its debut.

This is the second book in the series (Getting Schooled is the 1st) and I love it more than the first. Dèan is definitely book boyfriend material. A reformed playboy, he falls first and hard, I love how multi faceted he his. He's a jock, and a nerd and a musician. He's a man's man, he's sensitive and he loves his students. Lainey is also I great character, she's strong, caring creative, and a great mum. It would have been nice to see her form a strong female friendship, though. Yeah, she's kinda friends with Callie (the FMC from book one) but it feels like the perfunctory "we're dating best friends so we become friends" relationship, rather than one that can stand on its own. It would have been nice to see her form a life in this new town outside of her relationship with Dean. The narration was excellent. Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt poured their hearts into their performance and we felt everything.
