This third edition with the readings is great. A great reference and source of prompts for CNF. Well worth upgrading to. I'd recommend doing the readings first, then advancing through the chapters and re-reading or referring to them as they're mentioned.

Even though memoir writing isn't my focus, this was a hugely helpful book. The tips on research essays, revising, and publishing were god-tier. Also, actual concrete tips on writing cover letters!

One of (if not the) best-written/most enjoyable textbooks I've read thusfar.
These authors know their stuff. I learned so much about crafting creative nonfiction, and the try-it writing exercises are fantastic – they got me on the path I'm on when it comes to writing my semester chapbook, and they're just plain FUN. I am most definitely going to keep this around as a reference volume, and I think it's a phemomenal starting place for those new to CNF.
