My second DNF ever, and I'm guessing it's because of the scope of the genre.  Anyhoo, I didn't get farther than 50%. I'll elaborate later. But, yeah...

Robin and Edwin REALLY carried this novel (the other characters as well) and the mystery of it all was just interesting enough to keep me going.

Are you into gay, historical fantasy? I definitely am. This book had so many things I love it’s hard to say if it was actually good, but I had a great time! I have never wanted two people to kiss so badly in my entire life. The good guys were charming, the villains effectively evil. The magic system is well drawn. The stakes are high, so even when the plot is slow the pages feel full. Will definitely be reading the sequel.

The star docked is a personal preference thing. I am ace, and this book has some intense sex. I wanted the characters to kiss… and stop there. But I acknowledge that that doesn’t really make sense with the genre or the character's personalities. I appreciate the explicit consent, and I think the using magic to create intimacy thing would be interesting if I had more of a stomach for it. But all that’s my problem, go read this book!
