I didn’t love Andrea at first especially with how she treated Olivia and Hailee, but I loved how the story developed. I almost wish the story was longer; it felt so fast and the conflict got resolved so swiftly. Kudos to how she handled George. I did enjoy seeing Olivia and Andrea make up. Would have loved to have seen Hailee’s POV throughout the story too.

In the beginning, this book jumps right into the love interest and does not take much time to explain the characters or the main character's passion. Although it is touched on, it's not made important until the end which makes it feel a little inconsistent and out of the blue. I feel like there were also holes in the character building and we don't know anything about the love interest rather than she is the love interest. In fact, most of the characters feel very one dimensional. However, this is a lighthearted book and since I just came out, it was a good one for me and my hopeless-romantic-who-likes-a-straight-girl self lol.

Just…. The characters are sooo annoying. I couldn’t get into it, because they’re so insecure.

This could have been cute and sweet and great—and I wanted it to be, especially since it features a protagonist we don’t see enough—but it’s just not very well written.

"We are made up of the people we love and the people who love us in return."

Andrea surrounds herself with people who get her. People who both emotionally and literally support her, who let her lean on them when she tires (she has cerebral palsy), and who do it even without her having to ask out loud.

So when old divisions and new coverups crop up and threaten the group's easy unity (and their plans for the best summer ever), each needs to figure out what lays at the heart of the issue and, ultimately, apologize and communicate. And maybe friends can be more than friends after all. It felt like a soft book because sometimes that's what you need, for the most important people in your life to know you and love you for you.
