I liked the first book in the series. the plots and action is great. but reading this one made me realize the writing was really choppy. i think they changed some of it from super English to American (dollars instead of pounds, seriously?) and that might be part of it. but the story and intrigue were fun like always.

I enjoyed myself more in this installment of the Alex Rider series. Alex is a bit more seasoned as a spy and understands the full effect of what it means to be a fourteen-year-old risking his life. This book was the same plot of the IMDb series that came out recently, so I enjoyed both the similar and differing aspects of the book. Still, I'm looking for some humanity in these books. The two books so far haven't even really touched on Alex's personal life--Jack was full-on not in this book. I wished that we saw Alex being a bit more of a teenager to see that there is this huge difference between him going to school and being sent to the French mountainside to infiltrate a fancy finishing school.

This book was better than the first one and a solid sequel filled with more action and twists. Overall an enjoyable read.
