Such a sweet, moving, and romantic story. Wonderful depth on the theme of love for one's family, one's self, and one's love for another.

I’ll admit it, the title is what caught my eye. I love rural romance and the fact that this obviously was going to focus on a farmer made the book even more appealing.

I’m very pleased to report that I quite enjoyed The Farmer Takes a Wife. It’s a true delight to read something that focuses on creating drama out of organic problems that many couples face when they enter into a relationship, rather than outside troubles. The story is fast paced, moves steadily forward, and surprisingly sexy. It should provide anyone who loves historical fiction with a few hours of happy reading.

3 stars - I liked it.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

My choice for historical fiction tends to be Regency romances where large families or social engagements tend to occupy a character's time.

In this book we have Marcus, a poor farmer who lives by himslf and Laura, whose family obligations keep her trapped.

The romance between Marcus and Laura was both sweet and sexy. What made the bookfor me was that two lonely people found each other and chose each other because they loved one another.
