Hilarious! Snort-laugh-out-loud, make your sides hurt, hilarious fun!

Pippa Grant gives us the best opposing forces in the grouchiest, grumpiest hero that you cannot help but love and matches him with the happiest, full of sunshine and sprinkles heroine that I'm fairly certain is Pippa's inner Id. Real Fake Love is such a good time you won't be able to keep yourself from smiling, laughing, and falling in love with Luca and Henri the entire way through.

Henrietta Bacon loves love! She is a romance writer after all, so the world is painted in sunshine and rainbows. The fact that she's been left by five fiancé's on her wedding day is beginning to dim on view on love just a bit and to help her over the top libedo that can't seem to help falling in love with the next available man in line she seeks out help to NOT fall in love and she knows just the expert to help with her problem.

Luca Rossi may seem like no stranger to losing, especially when he was traded to the team that was most known for losing. However, their team is actually having their best season in years. However, no matter how well a team is playing he's always the guy that gets traded, so forming attachments, getting close...yeah he isn't exactly what you call a warm and fuzzy kind of guy. When his Nonna shows up at his run down house ready for him to settle down Luca didn't really want to battle her, but he also wasn't ready to be pressured into any kind of relationship either. Was it fate that a certain romance writer showed up on his doorstep that day looking for her own help or was he already cursed?

This entire book is filled with fun, no matter who is on the page. The main characters, secondary characters, past characters, imaginary characters (yeah that's right...Pippa can write a book with imaginary characters tucked right in and it's brilliant), everybody is crazy good. This book is like receiving unicorn dreams and puppy kisses.

The FMC was definitely crazy and immature and I didn’t find her funny. The one part I laughter at was her potential hyphenated last name. I was also bored, perhaps because I just really wasn’t enjoying the characters.

This book had a couple of situations that I thought were a stretch, but they cracked me up so much!! I love romances that make me laugh.

Real Fake Love
By: Pippa Grant
Narrated by: Virginia Rose, Jason Clarke

Need a laugh? How about a good romance? Look no further, Pippa Grant has it right here with Real Fake Love. I don't know even know where to start! This book had me laughing so much. Henri has a problem. She falls in love too easily, ends up close to the alter only to have it snagged from her not once, but five times! She enlists Luca Rossi, a man the complete opposite to teach her not to fall in love. He needs a girlfriend to prevent those attempts to set him up by his family and she is the perfect candidate. And our story begins. Moving in together wasn't enough to make the story go with their flirtatiously funny banter, but Luca's grandmother, TikTok Noni is in the wings. Known for her antics and her love charms she adds laugh out loud humor and all the sage advice anyone needs. Plus the team, their women and we can't forget the cat, the story flies by as you listen. This has to be one of my favorites so far!

Virginia Rose and Jason Clarke make magic with their narration. The comedic timing is spot on, the romance builds and their voices always on point. I love this team and can only imagine the outtakes from his recording! It is amazing!

After reading every single book by Pippa Grant, I shock myself for thinking there is ever a limit to her sheer creative genius!! Real Fake Love is absolutely perfect!

Henri is a five times jilted bride who somehow still find love and joy in life, and magnified that love and joy to those around her - spreads it unselfishly! She is a very successful paranormal romance writer who has a cat who loves wearing costumes and taking showers.

Luca is a baseball fielder for the Copper Valley Fireballs who doesn’t believe in love. They meet when he is shamed by his mother in attending the wedding of a childhood classmate who planned his wedding around him possibly attending. The wedding doesn’t happen.

Henri shows up on Luca’s doorstep several days after the non wedding asking him for lessons how to not fall in love. The next morning his Nonna shows up and gives him The Eye and freaks Luca out. He asks He to to fake being his girlfriend until the end of the season.

The fake relationship between Henri and Luca, and the interaction between them and his teammates, family and friends is just gold. What happens over the next several weeks is the slow unveiling of exactly who these two characters are and why they are a perfect fit for each other. Henri has been so emotionally battered by her parents/family/ex fiancés that she doesn’t believe she deserves love. Luca doesn’t believe in love, but his actions are so full of love - he is so amazing.

All of this amazing storytelling against the backdrop of the Fireballs fantastic baseball season, the mascot competition, appearances of and intersections with so many favorite characters makes this a savory feast for any Pippa Grant fan. Of course this is a Pippa book so the typical warnings apply: do not attempt to eat or drink while reading, especially if you are alone in the house - chocking May occur and you need someone to either give you the Heimlich maneuver or call 911! This book will be responsible for lots of laughter, snorting, a few tears, some tingling sensations, heart palpitations, and lots of cheers.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. I’m also damn happy to have the chance to read this fabulous book before release day!! Downside, I now have to wait for Pippa’s next book.
