I wanted to love this but it just fell a bit flat. Janet was a highly relatable character, at times funny, sarcastic and likeable “despite” being sad.
Spoilers ahead.
I had guessed fairly early on that Janet wouldn’t take the pills, I feel in this sense the author got the character spot on. However I just didn’t get the point of the ending beyond leaving the gate open and running away to the motel, it didn’t add anything to the story or the characters, for me.
