Era 2 continues to get better. This book introduces new aspects to the overall arc, opens the world up more, and has an awesome sandwrslanche. Steris starts to become more and more enjoyable as a character

Once again, a very fun adventure! Getting to see the world and characters develop was top-notch and I am really looking forward to seeing how things end in The Lost Metal. As is tradition, once things started getting a bit more cosmere-y and Realm-y at the end I did get a little lost in the proverbial sauce, but I trust Sanderson to make it make enough sense for me to understand the overall plot and vibes even if I miss some details and don't entirely get certain parts.

I really liked getting to see how things are outside of Elendel as well, that was neat
especially getting to meet Allik and his people, and the political tensions of the cities that aren't Elendel and have to deal with that.

I think it's my favourite of the second era, but it still far from the first trilogy. I was surprised y some characters and it's full of action which makes almost impossible to stop reading. Now I'm curious about the epilogue

It's hard to review this book without spoilers and acknowledging the content in this book. Again its beautiful engaging writing, thats another proper Mistborn installment. But the conclusion of this book leaves me more unsatisfied than any other installment before it. The world grows in ways you dont expect. The characters deepen once more. This is all good, but it doesnt feel complete. In the reading order Im following, I wont read the next installment for some time. Putting this seriees down for that long.... is frustrating based on how this book wraps up. I fear it may be better as a proper middle, with the last book immediately to follow. But I trust this reading order. Regardless of a reading order. I think I wished I could come away from this book with a better sense ot a break point and a place for pause.
I hope i feel different with some time passed in the future.

This was probably my least favorite installment, but it might be partially because I didn't love the audiobook narration and so I couldn't quite stay engaged with the story. However, the characters all became even more loveable and interesting, and their found-family vibe is so chaotic and sweet. I finally cought up for The Lost metal! Hopefully I can read it soon. Overall I think Era 2 is very fun, not my favorite series in the world but still a great time.
