What was the point of this whole book? Totally meh throughout. gains an extra star for the one good creepy bit in it, otherwise just felt like a long way of saying nothing.

It's certainly not a bad concept, and I liked certain aspects a lot, but the structure of this book in the series throws me. Leaving somewhere as compelling as Area X to be thrust into a new cast of characters that are hit or miss and to be bogged down in bureaucracy is not where I would have expected or wanted this to go.
