The story was very predictable, and lots of graphic sex scenes.

This book was beautiful! A story of young love and stupidity blended with rekindling that love and dealing with some reservations and some of the same stupidity in a different way.

This book was a little harder to read simply because it was half getting to know them as 23 year olds and their love story then and half 29 year olds and getting to know their love story “now”

However I think for them it wouldn’t have made as much sense with the time gap before unless she had written an extension prologue.

Their small split towards the end was so hard on them both but he walked away from her FOR her even though it gutted him to his core. The man would have walked through fire for Claire.

This one would have been fun as an audiobook also due to the accent switch.

Dylan is so so swoony and sweet! I love how he took Nick and Jackson’s BIG DATE ideas and combined them into his own!

❤️❤️

Passion is the same, whether its  love or hate.

Claire and Dylan are from two different worlds.   One is a legacy, groomed to follow the same path as those who came before, the other, "the baby" who wants to spread their wings.  The way they met is like it was written in a song.

Oh how young love can be  perfect and rose colored, then in one moment, can come crashing down.  Six years later, the universe conspires to reunite them.  This could be their second chance.  If they dare, could they rewrite history?

I love how the author brought these two characters to life. Once again,  her characters are full bodied,  and the laughter and light drama pull you in.  The storyline flows between six years, and shows how the characters mature and evolve.  I can't wait to see who is next in the HeartBeats world.

ARC Review

Keeping the Beat (Heart Beats #3) is Claire and Dylan's story. This couple met when Claire was an exchange student in London and Dylan was a law student. Dylan feels trapped when he's expected to carry on the family tradition of becoming a lawyer. Claire encourages him to follow his dreams and happiness by becoming a singer instead. When Dylan's music career takes off, he and Claire encounter some hardships and end up breaking up. Six years later, they meet again when Claire is the director for his music video.

What worked for me:
-I love a good Second Chance Romance trope. Dylan realizes he made a mistake in letting Claire go six years ago and vows to win her back
-I enjoyed the alternating timeline. The author switches between the current timeline and events that happened six years prior.
-We get appearances from Jax and Charlie and Nick and Meredith. I love how Jax and Dylan cleared the air after their disastrous first meeting and end up becoming friends. And Charlie and Meredith stepping in to help Dylan and Claire reconcile was hilarious.
-Steam level = high! Dylan and Claire on the kitchen counter, in the lifeguard shack on the beach, in the back of a car while they're on their first date. *fans self*

What didn't work for me:
-Perhaps a more varied way to describe attraction/arousal is needed. There was a lot of "soaked panties" and "hard cocks against zippers".

Overall, I give this 4/5. Claire and Dylan were so sweet and I'm thrilled they got their happy ever after.

Finally we get Dylan and Claire’s story! We met them in a prior book and it’t time they shine. We get a lot of past glimpses which I love because I find it really helps build a character ark and depth to them as well as we get to see them grow.

This book is filled with angst but is the second chance we needed out of this series. Claire was strong and held her ground on a lot and Dylan really has to work to earn her back. That makes some of the best pages though. We are readers get woooed right along with there heroine.

When he gets her a D*MN book?! My heart!

This rockstar, second chance is going to have you falling in love. Dylan is determined to get Claire back in his life and is pulling out all the stops to even get a moment of her time. He let her go once, and he refuses to have it happen a second time. Between swooning over the present and past Dylan, I wasn't sure who I loved more. (No shock, Present Dylan knows what's up.)

As I did mention, there are alternating chapters between past and present. I know that isn't for everyone, but Breanna Lynn did an amazing job weaving the two stories together.

Once again, another wonderful addition to the series and a book I'll always recommend. This is the 3rd book of the series, but still can be read as a standalone. Releasing the 24th, be sure to add this book to your TBR now!

There is just something about a Breanna Lynn novel that makes your heart give a thump.

I loved reading this book, and can't decide which romance I had liked more of the three. The second book of this series was incredible, but now that I found love in this story, I was hooked, absolutely and irrevocably hooked forevermore.

Who doesn't love a British Hottie?

Overall, this story will get you in the feels, with the Heart Beats series you get musical genius' in their element and a love story that is filled with HEA's!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this novel!

This was so cute!!! It had all the things you want in a second chance romance: a decent gap since the breakup (6 years), a mutually beneficial reason to reunite, a good pace going between flashbacks and present day, and of course good character development related to a rough breakup and concerns to work through. A perfect balance of sweet and steam, and a nice epilogue.

Definitely a series I’ll go back and read the first ones.
