There are SO MANY incredible authors in this collection!!!! I'm a huge fan of fantasy, so I'm going to devour these books like crazy. It's only 99c for 20+ books, too! Can't beat that.

I read Blood Rebellion by Nadine Travers - 3.5 stars.
Blood Rebellion is told from alternating points of view from Casey (a day walker), Damaris (a vampire) and an unknown character only known as The Lady. I enjoyed all the different paranormal creatures in the story, including day walkers, vampires, ware wolves and witches, and how they all worked together. Some parts seemed a bit jumpy and disjointed.
I wasn't expecting the explicit sex scenes - and whilst they didn't bother me, I would have liked to know there was going to be scenes like that before reading.
Overall a quick enjoyable read.

This box set appears to have a diverse selection of adventurous speculative fiction that relates to “Rogue Skies.” I’m looking forward to reading several of the stories in this anthology, but so far, I have only read The Art of Piracy by Cecilia Dominic, so my review is based solely on that story.

The Art of Piracy is a story of art theft, airship pirates, and a mystical curse set in the same world as Cecilia Dominic’s Aether Psychics series. Although it includes characters introduced in that series and occasionally references events from that series, this story is the first in the new series of Inspector Davidson Mysteries and can be enjoyed on its own.

The main characters in this story are flawed but admirable; each has his or her own strengths, weaknesses, and special gifts. I enjoyed the setting with its mix of magic, mythology, the supernatural, and steampunk inventions. The story featured elements of paranormal fantasy, adventure, mystery, suspense, and historical romance. The pacing was perhaps a little uneven at times and I felt like the ending was a bit rushed, but I thought this was generally well written and fun.

The language was fairly clean, there was no sexually explicit content, and although violent situations were described, there were no graphic depictions. If the Art of Piracy is typical of the quality of stories in this set, then this should be suitable for a wide audience of speculative fiction fans.

I do have one complaint about the formatting of the box set: the front matter doesn’t list the authors, and there’s no way to find a story by a specific author from the table of contents.

Comment on one of the books ‘Connecting’
Not exactly what I expected from the write up it was much better. Value of life is investigated in a new way. Social and political views are also addressed. A great beginning to a new series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
