This collection was much more in the “writing” side of “science and nature writing” compared to the 2022 version. Not bad, but it was more reflective than 2022, so I didn’t learn as much bc it wasn’t jam packed with fun and new to me stories and experiments and such.

The writing is amazing, my rating has nothing to do with the individual articles selected. They are each amazing science narratives. However, as a collection, the editor brought together a series of articles that, when read as a whole, are just sad and depressing.

This was awesome, I felt like a scholar reading it. But none of the selected works are dry or stale; they all read like enticing narratives.
