The way she refused to refer to her roommate by name, but as soon as she discovered her roommate had trauma she switched to her name was… really beautifully done.
There is a point about 200 pages in where the book seems to drastically change pace. It just slows right down, as if time decided to stop moving.
And then it all kind of happens at once, in a way that feels a little skipped over, in ways.
There are definitely some big content warnings for this book, so if that’s something you might need, I would recommend looking them up. Most notably, this book follows a girl with an eating disorder in a treatment centre for eating disorders. Other warnings I would note are suicide attempts, suicidal ideation, drinking, abuse, and car crash.

This book was so heartbreaking, but so powerful in its message. This story follows a young girl struggling with an eating disorder and suicidal thoughts. Stevie was struggling before the death of her brother, the only one who seemed to notice she was struggling, but after an accident that Stevie blames herself for, she feels entirely hopeless. She plans to commit suicide on the anniversary of Josh's death, but she is sent to an eating disorder treatment facility about a month before that date.
This book was definitely difficult to read because it was very explicit in Stevie's thoughts about herself and life in general. If you are in the right headspace, I think this is a powerful book about grief and hope.
