The story follows Blake our nonbinary MC. They are on the run from their bio family and have been for a few years now. The family finds them and Blake is ready to dip out but after a chance encounter with 3 men decides to stay when they find out they may have left their crime family behind but they unintentionally walked into another one.

Now given the task to find out who the mole is in the new "family" Blake is on a mission to find out who it is and when they do learn the culprit and his reasonings. Blake is furious and decides they will make the person behind the scenes pay dearly.

Will that be possible though when not only are they forming connections with the 3 new men but a man from their past shows up and wants to join Blake too? Blake's bio family also isn't taking no for an answer.

Is book 2 ready yet?

Not gonna lie, had to skip some parts I couldn't deal with. All that aside, I want more of the story. All the truly bad guys going down.

Beauty of Corruption by Suki Williams is a mafia reverse harem romance. This is the first book in the Lies and Loves series.

The book comes with a caution: "There is MM content within the series, both with and without the MC present. This book includes sexual assault, PTSD, and self-harm that readers can find triggering."

This was Suki's debut novel and she knocked it out of the park. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I read the first two books in the Queens of Hearts trilogy that referenced these characters, and I knew I had to come start this series to get more of their story.

The chemistry between Blake, Robin, Conrad, Wulfric, and Atlas is off the charts! I can't wait to see how their relationship will progress as the series continues. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the story. It really brought the story to life.

The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book in the series Beauty of betrayal to be released on April 29, 2022.

I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, reverse harem romances, or romantic suspense.

**Review**
This was a first for me- I was not used to a character as non binary genderfluid, so it took me a little to get used that POV. But I absolutely loved their character, Blake. I even loved Wulfric, Conrad, Robin & Atlas characters! Those men are hot and I love that you get MM in this!

RH? YES
MAFIA? YES
DARK? YES

This book checked off a lot of things for me! I loved it. Its was a slower read for me bc you got to add that drama & suspense! It even had a great spice amount!

The cliffy at the end-dang! Im so glad I was able to move on to book2 after this!

Enbie babe and their guys

This is...quite a book for a debut work. As someone who is not a fan of either RH romance or mafia stories, I found this quite engaging and had a hard time putting it down.

Blake is an interesting and layered character with a unique point of view we rarely get to see—they are non-binary/gender fluid, staying mostly in the middle of the spectrum most days—who takes us through a whole gamut of emotions through out the course of the book. The singular they pronouns are perfectly fine in context. I didn't have any issues with them.

The 4 MMCs are interesting and fairly diverse. I did not feel like there was enough opportunity to get to know any of them particularly well, so I hope there's more to learn about them in the future that will make them more unique.
SpoilerBut poor Conrad. JFC is that man being put through his paces. I wanted to wrap him up in a blanket and tuck him away in a pocket so no one could hurt him anymore.

TW/CW for rape, self-mutilation, torture, and murder. This story is fairly dark, and while I'm not super squeamish, I do have problems reading self-harming scenes that involve blades or razors. There are a few in here that I had difficulty reading without having to walk away for a minute to distract myself so I could move on. Nothing gratuitous, but they're there.

This story has a lot of action between our GFMC and the MMCs plus some M/M interactions. This story is full of queer relationships with plenty of conflicts.

I hate to call this a fun read, but it is entertaining and worth a read. Now where is that second book so I can see how this game plays out?
