My boyfriend bought this for me a few years ago from a second-hand book shop, and it isn't something I would personally buy, but I finally got round to reading it. The content itself was a little dry, but the extra details about literacy within the medieval period was interesting and some of the letters were quite engaging. However, I felt that the content could perhaps have been structured differently, as several historical figures had letters within different chapters, by which time I had forgotten earlier details about them. I mostly skimmed the second half of the book, but if you want a better understanding of medieval female literacy from a non-academic perspective, you'll likely get something out of this.
