While I did enjoy the book, it didn't grab me in the same way my previous reads by the authors did. Maybe there were too many things going on to keep me completely interested in Hope and Joni but I never felt completely invested. I mean, we had parental conflict, Evil Clara, Alicia and Mitch, Joni's commitment issues, Hope's sexuality, the dates, the web series, etc. There was a lot going on.

I'm not done with this writing duo but this one left me wanting a bit.

This is a slow burn that is worth the wait, I enjoyed the story around the romance and the fact they try to represent the Ace and Demi part of the LGBTQI+ compunity

Yay to the ace rep (and possibly autism, tho never labelled as such), kinda cute, but also kinda cringe on the belitteling and the "no, never, I know my dad" never check you own bias train.
Also, I really do not like book covers with real people on them.

I was very close to a dnf with this one. The idea sounded promising: someone who is on the ace spectrum and thinks they're "broken" because they have never experienced sexual attraction the way others seem to. Add that to the fact that Hope is also socially inept to the point of possibly being on the autism spectrum and the fact that literally everyone in the book, including the people who care about her, treats her like absolute shit and finds their terrible behaviour hilarious. Even her love interest (who literally just finds her incredibly attractive and, strangely enough, thinks she's a dead ringer for her uni crush, a straight best friend) treats her terribly and sabotages her own matchmaking attempts.

The Love Project

Awesome story. A well written novel by an experienced author. This page-turner had me reading like the Energizer Bunny! The characters were well developed and led me to laugh and feel warm fuzzies. This is a sign of a great writer. The give and take between the characters, chemistry, developed the plot with fun, anxiety, and romance.

This book was such a fun read. Hope’s misadventures kept me smiling, and the plot was so well developed. I knew where it was going, but the journey was totally worth it. I also really liked that the book explored the spectrum of attraction, as that’s not something I know much about. It was interesting. Overall, this was a great read. Highly recommended.

I chuckled several times during the audiobook. It was a real nice, relaxing "read" with just the right pacing. All characters were interesting and I had a good time.
