Che questo libro sia ambientato in America si capisce immediatamente, ha tutte le caratteristiche: agenti della CIA che entrano nelle biblioteche con i fucili spianati, che fanno irruzione nei vagoni della metro con le pistole in pugno terrorizzando le povere vecchiette, macchinoni buttati a tutta velocità per le strade di Washington.
Robert è sempre il mio cuore, però, poverino, capitano tutte a lui. Viene chiamato per una conferenza e si trova a rischiare la vita, di nuovo, per salvare il suo amico.
Bond girl della situazione è la sorella dell'amico, che lo abbraccia e bacia più volte durante il libro.
Una cosa che mi ha fatto un po' storcere il naso è come, arrivati al terzo libro, sia un po' ipocrita da parte di Robert screditare questi misteri misteriosi. Hai svelato di tutto nei libri precedenti, mo questi misteri qua ti lasciano perplesso?
Parlando dei misteri veri e propri, senza fare spoiler, non mi sono piaciuti particolarmente, erano un po' fumosi e campati in aria, non mi hanno presa più di tanto.
Anche i personaggi non sono stati poi chissà quanto incisivi; tolta la tizia della CIA che mi ha fatto incazzare, gli altri erano abbastanza piatti.
In definitiva il libro mi è piaciuto, mi ha tenuto compagnia ed è migliore di Angeli e Demoni, ma non è al livello del Codice da Vinci.

Dan Brown has good plots, but his writing style would be better served on television, where his cliffhangers would be perfect annoying lead-ins to a commercial break.
