As with most short story collections I found parts of this anthology delightful and other parts a bit puzzling. I loved that the authors all had a connection to Northern Ontario and in many cases the stories revolved around themes or locations that are at the core of Northern life. There were some interesting stories with unique approaches to ideas of luck, magic, the afterlife, and other slightly magical topics. But there were a handful of stories that I struggled to get through or was left with a 'huh, so that's it?' feeling at the conclusion of them.
