I was really liking this story AT FIRST. I picked it up because it was said to be “an homage” to Little Women. It has barely anything in common with Little Women except the fact that there are four sisters in the story. As the story went on, the characters became more and more unlikable. The problem with that is the author expects the reader to sympathize with some of the character decisions and I just don’t. They’re just making stupid decisions and it’s miscommunication after miscommunication. Sucks, but I’m DNFing it at 37%.

This was described as a homage to the story Little Women. There are a few references to the classic novel and there are a few parallels to the story. The characters were well developed with the story line going over a few decades. It is a slow read but it moves well. The theme is strongly based on depression and family.
