Most of these stories were so-so. My favorites were all the ones with teen girls/young adult women kicking ass and taking names. My favorite in particular was the one with the kaiju. A couple of the stories were generic enough that I started listening to the vocal tics of the narrators and trying to place what audio books I'd heard them narrate before.

Audio book review.

An interesting group of stories, diverse in both monsters and main characters. I think each story had its own appeal, but some were more memorable than others. I would recommend pausing between stories, or jumping over and reading something else entirely. I found reading stories back-to-back to be very confusing. This is not something I would typically pick up, but I was pleasantly surprised! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy Supernatural or the X-Files.

There are several good stories in here and at least one great one. You need not be familiar with the series to enjoy them.

Some of the short stories in this collection were great, I really enjoyed Jim Butchers, another story focused on a teen girl moving into the elf trailer park, and a few others; however, several just drag.

I am about halfway thru listening to this book but I don't think I will be finishing. The quality of the stories varies so greatly from writer to writer.

I could see this being worth reading, as you can easily skip stories that don't interest you, but as an audio book it just did not work for me.

Some ups and downs here in this anthology of shorter works in the MHI universe and I generally enjoyed the majority of them.

I only read three of these short stories and they were each super page-turner material.

Jim Butcher’s short story was fun and violent and also: rat soldiers!!

Faith Hunter’s story was great. Jane Yellowrock, with the help of her beast and a wee bloodthirsty grindylow, takes on a were who is trying to turn children.

Jonathan Maberry turns to dark fantasy golems and beasts all set in Nazi occupied France. Very grim and bloody; well written.
