I liked this one more than the last one but the last maybe 1/4 kinda lost me a bit. Up until then I thought it was super well paced, their connection was sooo cute and was developed so steadily, and the little world they were in was so charming! I loved Portia especially.

The last 1/4 just kinda got out of hand with the magnitude of what they were dealing with and their communication totally fell apart!! I would have liked the whole “navigating a new dukedom” thing to have been explored more because it’s such a cool premise but it felt really rushed and underwhelming by the end. And the actual ending scene was just soooo rushed and far fetched, lol.

But up until then I really really enjoyed and I’m excited to read the novellas/next!

This is a well written contemporary romance that is both sweet and spicy. The main character describes herself as a mess, but you can’t help but root for her.

This is one of my favourites in this series! I loved both of our main characters and I thought the story was very well fleshed out. I loved the backdrop of Scottland and sword making too!
