Great little "vampire" novel.

Ugh. Just...Tried to play the skim game, but I lost. As short as it was too. It was not good at all. Almost a spin on Dracula, but a poor one at that.

I’ve had this book recommended by a few people I know online (ironically enough, given the subject matter) and of course it crops up on every five-book list talking type 1 diabetes rep.

It lives up to the talk.

Sweetblood is an absolutely phenomenal story of what it’s like to have not just type 1 diabetes, but diabetes burnout. I found the ending a little off, not yet sure why, but I loved this and will be rereading it.

I've lived with t1d for 16 years. Read this if you know the feeling.

Read this years ago so I don't remember much of anything.

Meh. The idea of the first vampires being diabetics was interesting, but I didn't connect with the characters. There wasn't much depth within the story, and I just didn't feel bad for Lucy, which is probably pretty awful; but I think the blasé writing was just a rerun of something I've read time and time again and seemed indifferent to Lucy's true internal angst.

An interesting take on the vampire novel, but merely an okay book.

Hated the characters, except the tattoo artist. The only good thing about this book was that the diabetes was relatable. The characters were whiny and the main character kept complaining about everything.

Enjoyed a vast majory but the ending felt a little rushed. Worth it for a quick read though
