DICEY'S SONG is the book that inspired me to try children's book writing. I read it and thought, "I want to do that. I won't be able to, but I can try. And if it's an eighth as good, well, that's something."

DICEY'S SONG is the story of tough, loving Dicey and her three siblings, who've moved in with their previously estranged grandmother because their mother is sick. Dicey takes care of her siblings, and a couple of kids from her sub-par school start to take care of her. I don't remember a flaw in the book, and I don't care to hear about one. I like it just the way I remember it.

I don't remember when I read this book the first time, but I thought it was a good time to read again. It is just as good this time around.

10/29/2021: I love the first two books in this series, and I wish there was more books with just the Tillermans

This is a wonderful coming of age book about a girl who is given a great deal of responsibility at a young age. Life is very difficult, until it becomes a little easier, but then where does the sense of responsibility go?

The story line was good, but I found other books that interested me more so didn't finish. Maybe I will pick it back up.
