I liked it enough to keep Dugoni on my list of writers who tell a good story.

Slow start to read, but what you think is a predictable ending results in a nice twist. Stick with it.

Robert Dugoni shows that he and his main character David Sloan are as at home in a criminal court as they are in a civil one. The courtroom scenes and surprises rival those of Perry Mason. Good police work, terrific legal expertise, and superb character development all contribute to a very believable legal thriller. Dugoni just gets better and better and I can’t wait to see what David Sloan will face next time.

First line: "She stood resolute, head held high, refusing to so much as flinch."

Another novel by Dugoni that I have not been thoughtful enough to review soon after reading. This author has an exquisite way with words, many plot twists, and a main character that I could read about for days.

Looking forward to reading more of his work!

I had not anything else by this author before I had won this book in a contest. I'm glad to have been introduced to this author. I was entertained by this mystery. It did indeed have plenty of twists and turns and the court scenes were compelling. I will be getting hold of his other books.

My book club read this and I couldn't get into it. I put it down for a while and eventually decided to finish it. It was a good yarn and the courtroom portions were synopsized perfectly and held my interest. May read another in the series.

Very standard readable courtroom tale with a twist.
