So this volume had me screaming.

Starting with Kaneki, my man, still cares about those around him! He isn't heartless, and that makes me really happy. Even though it really is the most brutal thing, to witness a kind, lovely character go through the most horrific situations and see them return to their original attitudes, but without their wide-eyed näiveté.

Arima being in cahoots with V and Furuta really ruined my hope for his becoming a possible ally for Kaneki.

Seeing Mutsuki suffer at the hands of his father and the Torso was particularly awful. It even gave me a dreadful nightmare. I really cannot wait for Urie to come help Mutsuki murder that monster.

A sidenote: where is Mado in all of this?

******SPOILERS AHEAD******

This Volume took all my emotions out and juggled them around, undoubtedly this has been the best Volume so far. It took out the stories laid in TG, answered some of the burning questions we had and built the plot beautifully.

Who'd have thought, an organization like V that was not in the limelight all these years, is actually controlling CCG from behind! To think that Washuus are somehow connected to V, are all these raids by CCG merely an eye-wash?!?

What I didn't expect at all was that Yomo was Touka and Ayato's Uncle. The flashback about his neesan having a baby was just adorable. I guess Ayato's protect neesan complex comes from Renji afterall. It also made me realise just how many families have been ruined by Arima Kishou..

But someone needs to save Mutsuki! Poor child has given up all hopes and has accepted his fate. I hope he's saved and then he's able to deal a fatal blow to Torso, I'm so waiting for that!

Kaneki's life in Cochlea was just painful. Even when he's at his lowest, how does he have the strength to look out for others? All this pushed him to the point of losing his memories and eventually turning into Haise with Arima's help. Due to this, he's conflicted but decides which side he wants to save and that's when the most fu*ked up detail is revealed.. Hide.

Since Hide never turned up for these many Volumes, I used to think jokingly that maybe Kaneki ate him. But seeing it written in black and white, knowing that there's never going to be a Hide again, it just tore my heart. All this while Kaneki went on a rampage to protect everyone including Hide, now should I be happy that there was someone to save Kaneki after all or should I be upset that he was pushed to this level of helplessness that he survives by eating his friend?

When Arima and Kaneki are fighting, Kaneki is again pushed to the same level of weakness wherein he decides to die by himself and Hide intervenes again.

I want to die for someone in style, was that it? Idiot, at that time, I was actually thinking, I want to live on with you. I'll keep repeating it until you hear it, it may not be stylish but live!

I've never cried this much over a manga but this line, this single line had me bawling my eyes out! Hide, I truly missed you and thank you so much for riling Kaneki up to act. I'm sure he'll fight to live from here on.
