Cross is pretty funny, but a lot of this book just was irritating--whiny, angry, and self-centered. I don't particularly mind comedians who come off as angry; anger can be a great schtick, but it just feels like Cross is complaining on and on about people he feels have wronged him and blog posts that upset him and people who misinterpreted his act. Maybe it's supposed to be ironic, but it comes off like he's defensive and neurotic and it makes me nervous to read.
Some good jokes in there though. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood to read this book, and some other time I might be able to appreciate Cross's comedic voice better.

David Cross can be a bit of an asshole, but his humor lies within his assholishness (yeah, I just made up a word, so what?) I find most people either love or hate him, and not much in between. I think he's hilarious and that this book is hilarious. If you haven't liked his stand-up or performances in TV/movies then you're probably not gonnna like his book.

I've enjoyed some of David Cross' work, but not this. The first line was a turnoff. Maybe I'm just past that point in my life where I enjoy reading anger and vitriol.

He was funny when I saw him live. Not so much with the book, though.

Silly, irreverent, quick read. I wish it were a little more real, however, and a little less SURreal. Still, Cross is a funny, clever, intelligent guy and I was happy to read what goes on in his twisted little brain. Gobias Industries forever!

I love David Cross, but this was hard to get through...
