Sadly, this one was nowhere near as good as [b:The Crafting of Chess|44078188|The Crafting of Chess|Kit Falbo|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1550716618l/44078188._SY75_.jpg|68541473]. Not bad by any means, but nothing you'll feel you've missed out on if you skip it. Which is a shame, because the idea of a heist inside a VRMMORG is a helluva an interesting concept; it was the execution that fell flat.

Quite a few typos, almost constant bizarre sentence construction, characters and world-building that barely rose above the forgettable kind of drowned out what did work in the book, the off-the-wall humor, some decent combat scenes, and as noted, the kind of unique concept.

Ah well, we can't win 'em all.

Three stars if LitRPG is your thing.
Two stars (probably) if it is not.

Recommendation to Mr. Falbo: Read a few Parker novels and take another stab at the concept. A LitRPG version of [b:The Outfit|447212|The Outfit (Parker, #3)|Richard Stark|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1387707914l/447212._SY75_.jpg|3849] would probably be epic. And get a better editor, sheesh. Still not sure if it was Titania or Tatiana.
