A wordless illustrated story, that functions as an allegory of life, death, and our relationship with our parents and offspring. I went through it the day after finding out my estranged grandfather passed away, so it hit a little harder than I had expected. I am planning on giving it to my dad, as he loved comics as a kid.
Beautifully illustrated with very crisp watercolor and line work.

This was an unexpected beautiful read. Everything from the illustrations to the concept was absolutely lovely. I read this once and went back to read it all over again, pausing on each page for a long time. A wordless story, ‘Carry Me’ says everything it wants to with visuals. With an ability to depict the progression of time and so many layered emotions in a few visuals, I couldn’t help but be in absolute awe of Berry’s craft. Of course, I also have to mention that I love the use of watercolours. It felt like a story perfect for children and adults to enjoy. There’s so much to learn, discuss and bond over as you read it. I think it would make a particularly great picture book for story time sessions.
