Why I added this book to my TBR pile: On my long list of ideas that I dream of turning into stories, one involves a gay man circa 1922. This book provided great background in a historical and sociological context about how queer people in NYC lived during the first part of the century
Will I read more by this author / about this subject? Probably Not Maybe Definitely This is my fist 4-star book of 2023. Hopefully Chauncey will  soon publish part two of his research about gay NYC.  I wish to research works about NYC, the history of NYC and historic gay culture. I would enjoy learning more about Greenwich Village in the 20th century.
The narrator was Graham Halstead. He had a good presence, but he could have added some variety when reading from first person sources.
