Poets write very interesting books, in my experience. This collection of short stories has the style of a writer who is used to breaking sentences up and using their bones to build things besides straightforward stories. Very interesting and atmospheric but it may not be for readers who are not in the mood for something experimental.

The only part of the book I could follow was the last chapter, written from the point of view of the dog. The rest of the book left me utterly confused.

....I don't think I could tell you a single thing about this book if you asked. I'm very confused.

Intriguing but I’m trying to get out of a reading slump and the reviews said this had no point

I had a problem with the syntax of this book. I gave it several goes and abandoned after 1/2 way through.

I did find the first story the most engaging.
