This is perhaps the best graphic novel I have read this year. The classic story of the lost fisherman and the faithful wife waiting at home is retold with a twist. I devoured it in one sitting.

I love a good wordless graphic novel. But I mostly was looking for a book I could give to my grand mother who struggles to read in english and in her native language. And when I brought this up to a friend she was talking about how her grandma is like 99% illiterate in her native language and english.
And how it was hard because we wanted to share books with them.
Wordless graphic novels are the answer to the question.
This is a fun story of an old couple. The husband gets lost at sea and his wife tries to find him. Lots of goofy things happen and it's just a beautifully illustrated graphic novel. Would recommend to a friend.

'A Sea of Love' by Wilfrid Lupano with illustrations by Gregory Panaccione is a journey of two characters told completely without words.
A little old fisherman with huge glasses sets out on the sea every day. Every day his wife packs him sardines for lunch, and every day, he tosses them in the boat's hold. One day, his boat gets caught up in the net of a bigger boat, and he doesn't come home. The book then splits between his journey, which goes from bad to worse, the waiting that his wife is doing back in the village. Eventually, she decides to go find him, and both of their journeys go back and forth in this charming and funny story.
I liked this story that doesn't have any words. The story works very well and communicates everything the writer wants. The art was fun too.

A lovely silent comic about a couple fighting to reunite despite all the obstacles the sea throws at them.

I loved the illustrations in “Sea of Love.” It’s not often that you see a wordless picture book for people over the age of 8, and this was done perfectly. I honestly will probably buy it. The mismatched, devoted couple are adorable and I was so glad that I got to see this story.

Un Oceano d'Amore è un fumetto "muto" che, attraverso bellissime illustrazioni, racconta di un uomo e una donna in là con l'età, che sembrano sopportarsi ormai a malapena, ma che quando vengono separati a causa di un incidente fanno di tutto per ricongiungersi, dimostrando che il loro amore è grande quanto l'oceano che li ha separati.
La storia, oltre che romantica, è soprattutto avventurosa e piena di aneddoti assurdi, che rendono la "lettura" davvero uno spasso!

I loved this. It's like a modern, eco-aware, feminist, wordless narrative Odyssey that's genuinely funny and heartbreaking at parts.

I loved this! Beautiful illustrations and the story is so sweet and silly and wonderful.
