This is about Lainey and Alex. It is the prequel to the first book Iced Out.
Lainey is a twin to her brother who plays hockey. No one sees her for her including her family. She is shy and wants to help the local bookstore. During an altercation Alex comes to save her.
Why not fake date until the dance to have a ton of people come to it to save the local bookstore she works at, that is a great idea right?
Alex has liked Lainey from a long time ago. He just has to focus on hockey right now. He isn't going to fall for her and she isn't going to fall for him. They will stay friends and nothing romantic is going to happen.
This is a cute book that is exactly the opposites attract and fake dating trope should be.

I have basically nothing to say about this since it was a short novella but I had a good time and it was entertaining. I liked the main characters I thought the events that happened were done well to make up and fit within the short time frame and the relationship was cute.
