This paranormal romance anthology contains a number of books all about the holidays, with a mix of different shifter tales and Christmas magic, from ten different authors. A veritable feast of festivities and fun, with a whole shovel full of romance on top!
Snowshifter - P. Matten
An ancient tribe of Snowshifters, made up of community of elemental magical wizards, inhabit the harsh areas of the Arctic Circle and carry out their duty to be the caretakers of the cold at the North Pole. Al (Alaska) Dong has been in love with his adopted little sister Icelyn since he was thirteen and his father found her in the wilderness after other nearby camps in the eastern part of the territory were attacked. The Frost Giants and the rogue faction of Snowshifters, led by Temperi Frost, had left no other survivors, killing all the males and taking the females to use as slaves and concubines. He wants to ask his father for permission to mate with her, but another in the family beats him to it! His father visits the Oracles and tells Al that his fated mate is in the lover 48, and sends one of his five brothers, Vento, to Chicago with him, as his fated mate is in the same city also. Al’s fated mate is psychologist Dr Valerie Ligocki, who he meets by chance as he and his brother get lunch somewhere near to the Dong Enterprises offices. Hearing her talking to a workmate, he approaches her after the man leaves and asks if she would be interested in having the company she works for, the Stress Management Institute, offer their services to their Chicago Operations office. Vento manages to find his fated mate Roxy (Roxanne) Stewart, in a diner the brothers go to after Al’s date with Valerie is cancelled at short notice. Now all these brothers have to do is persuade their human females that they are their one and only true fated mate and to move back to the Arctic Circle with them! Oh, and avoid being attacked by Temperi and his rogue snowshifters!
Curse of the Snowman - Tricia Schneider
This story starts back in 1850, when Henry Wentworth (Went) is turned into a snowman by an evil sorcerer, Bellamy, who has been waiting for a traveller such as him to come by. He and his horse fell through into some water and only he managed to climb out, but was nearly frozen to death, when this strange man, Bellamy came along, wanting to make him his son’s new plaything! He used some sort of magic to change Henry into a snowman, with his flesh all gone and replaced by snow everywhere. The next characters we meet are Nora Evergreen, an elf and Nicholas aka Santa Claus, as they travel around with a list and deposit food and presents at every house. Nora comes across the young son beating the snowman with a stick and getting great glee form doing so. She tries to stop him and is even more shocked to discover the snowman is actually alive and used to be a man! She manages to get Wentworth free of the evil man and his son, with the help of Nick and they fly him back to their home at the North Pole. Nick doesn’t know a spell to change Wentworth back and break the curse, but Nora vows to find a solution and they spend most of the next year looking through tons of books and growing closer together. At last, a possible magical object is located that could temporarily change Went back into the man he was and Nora returns to her past and is determined to get it for Went, without thinking of the consequences of her actions. A nice romance with a twist on the story of Santa and his reindeer, with elves, magical dust and someone coming to the rescue.
Demon by Day – Lulu M. Slyvian
Cyrus is a gargoyle by day, stuck in the stone exterior he was cursed with thousands of years ago, and an Incubus demon by night, gaining energy by the emotions of those placing bets and ogling the exotic dancers in the casino. He is part of a dance crew that drive the woman crazy and one night’s performance gives him energy for ages. The arrival of Twila and her assistant Gracie, with a private curated exhibit of ancient opulence, at the casino, soon has Cyrus feeling the pull of the evil that took him and his general, Bazus, turning them to stone for centuries. A mage had called Cyrus and Bazus to find a witch who was stealing gems and infesting them with demons. Only problem was, they weren’t told how strong she was! Theodora was a Byzantine witch and the amulet she wore had a crystal in it which housed the demon, Sekhr, who she freed to bind the two of them and set them into stone. Cyrus used to be like a god, worshiped and prayed to, feeding his energy, but the drop off of worship and belief would have seen him fade away to nothing, if he hadn’t been turned to stone! Twila is the woman he loved thousands of years ago, known as Melanire then, she doesn’t recognise, but does feel a pull towards him. The highlight of the exhibit is the Santa Delores, a gem infested torso and skull of a woman, but it is not what it seems. That is in fact, the remains of the witch herself! Cyrus wants to destroy the crystal, break the stone figure of Bazus and gain their freedom, which they were promised all those years ago! The casino boss has a familial link to the Santa Delores and believes it has power and the gems are real, but they aren’t. All he can probably feel is the evil power it emits. Twila falls for Cyrus and asks him not to leave her, giving him no choice but to allow her to see the real him in the daylight. Gracie has had a thing for the statue of Bazus, which she had been calling Urtu. However it happens, the crystal is damaged and love conquers all!
Mistletoe Kisses – Erzabet Bishop
Jess is the wayward sister of the new alpha of the Blackmore Pack, Carrick, who recently found his mate in cat shifter Sage, who as well as Jess and another woman, were subjected to a horrific experience under the previous alpha Justin. He had tortured them and also carried out experiments on them, hoping to make them as strong as him and fit to be his mate. He pushed Jess to shift into her wolf form or growl on demand for him, but she managed to always refuse! Since her brother defeated him for the position of alpha, she has still not allowed her wolf out and lets people believe she can’t actually shift. In fact, she is afraid that she has become one of the monsters, like Justin, a hybrid, and a danger to all those she loves. Carrick wants her protected and hires Black Wing gargoyle Thorne, to be a bodyguard for his sister for the next two weeks, then will give him full reign to hunt down the hybrids as he wants. What he didn’t expect was a glorified babysitting job for a spoilt princess!
But once he gets to know Jess, he finds out all of his assumptions were untrue. She spends most of her time at an animal rehoming facility, looking after unwanted animals and trying to get them a new and permanent home. She has worked through loads of bodyguards and the last one only lasted a day before engulfing himself in flames! What neither expected, was for their inner beasts to recognise the other as their mate, something Thorne has no intention of doing anything about whilst he must keep her safe. But he finds himself unable to resist when she wants him and makes it very clearly she needs him with her after another of her nightmares about what she went through. Thorne finally figures out just why he could scent a hybrid near Jess in the street and in her room, but couldn’t trace the rogue, but accepts Jess for what she is and what his inner beast desires.
A Catmas to Remember – Pepper McGraw
The main characters in this short story are Bryce Meier, a polar bear shifter and manager of the family Shenanigans restaurant, the Ice Box, and his overly enthusiastic, Christmas loving next door neighbour Jennifer Montoya, a vegetarian wolf shifter, who works at the Holiday Barn. Byrce’s sister Isana is mated to grizzly bear shifter Mason Worcester and is beyond happy, but wants to see all the animals she rescues find a good home. She has decided to place the most difficult cat with her brother Bryce. Shredder has already be returned to the rescue centre after being rehomed seventeen times and certainly lives up to his name, as Bryce is about to find out.
When she manages to calm Shredder down seemingly automatically, when Bryce is being attacked at every moment he leaves a piece of skin of clothing available for Shredder to climb onto, he asks for her help. Basically he wants to get her to take Shredder home with her and he would be done with the cat, even if his sister wouldn’t be happy. But instead, she agrees to help him at his home and soon goes about redecorating inside and out with garish Christmas decorations! No matter how much he hates it all, she doesn’t stop and she soon begins to grow on him. Whether Jennifer will finally get her man, and a cat, is still early days!
An Alpha Christmas – Julie Morgan
Alpha wolf shifter Lucian Kane Blackcrown has been asked to pay Santa for his nephew Everett, by his younger brother Killian. His mate and wife Sarah, is the younger sister of Cordelia, Killian’s mate. Both men had a horrible upbringing under their evil father and alpha of the pack, Richard. He was cruel and used to beat them to make them stronger, often having fights to the death between members of the pack and never being kind to anyone. He used to rule with fear, until Lucian finally managed to overthrow him. Lucian is worried about anyone in the pack seeing him dressed up as Santa, but Sarah dresses up as a very naughty Mrs Claus, to make him happy afterwards, but adds a few more layers to keep it PG for the kids!

This is a great collection of shifter stories set at Christmas time. Each story is a quick read, perfect for an evening.
This review is specifically for Mistletoe Kisses by Erzabet Bishop. It is part of the Westmore series.
Thorne arrives at Westmore for a mission, but instead is tasked with protecting the alpha's sister, Jess. She is still healing from recent events, but is feisty.
As Jess agrees to a bodyguard, she finds herself (and her wolf) attracted to Thorne. But can they ever be together or is she too broken?.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
