It's not as bad as the previous volume, but this is still tepid stuff. Willingham is now displaying his politics in bright, blazing colors - he literally stops the story dead to go into a pro-Israel rant - and the misogyny present in the Bigby/Snow White relationship has come to the fore. (It's really somewhat distressing, too, because I expected it to be a slightly eye-rolling point of conflict, not the lead-in to their wedding!) Frankly, Willingham needs to step away from the soap operatics and focus on the war storyline; I don't agree with every political comparison he's making, but at least I feel like he knows where he's going. The relationship stuff is weak in comparison.

I just love this so much. Magical, intriguing, romantic, action packed, and full of twists. Also the ending of this one is what all sappy romantics like me were waiting for

They found Bigsby for a top secret mission into the Homelands. The reward being Wolf Valley (a place near but not on the farm for Bigsby and his family to live. PLUS he marries Snow White! (I've been wait for this!) Also I got introduced to Cinderella the super spy.

Got so see more of Bigby and when he met his kids. Lovely. And even though this is book 8 and I have only read the "prequel" I could still jump in :) I know that lots have happened but in a worst case they can stand alone. But it did make me wanna read the rest too

A bit of a stop-gap apparentally. Not a whole lot significantly happens outside of the wedding. Mostly just coasting on good-will.

Bigby! I missed him especially after learning his tale in [b:Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall|21322|Fables 1001 Nights of Snowfall|Bill Willingham|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327870123s/21322.jpg|3163819]. In the trade I had it had the script for the whole Bigby mission and aftermath. It described the
Spoiler proposal scene as:
They kiss. This the truest of true love's kisses since the beginning of time. It's every poem ever written and every song ever sung. This is the one panel at which the dream of every female reader of FABLES has come true. Each and every one of them must be made to cry or squel or swoon like a character in a Jane Austen novel. Don't blow it Buckingham. We sort of, kind of know where you live.

Also enjoyed seeing Mowgli and Cinderella again.
